Oberliga: Derby victory makes Weinstrasse dream of staying in the league

The Unterlanders, who seemed to be fighting a losing battle just a few weeks ago, defeated local rivals Tramin 1-0 in Kurtatsch. Claudio Barbetti shot the home team to victory in the first half. Since the fourth-from-bottom Calciochiese lost 0-5 at home against free-playing footballers from St. Martin, the saving grace for Weinstraße Süd is now only one point away (as long as there are three relegated teams).

FC Eppan, on the other hand, has to hope for a small football miracle in the remaining 90 minutes of the season. After the bitter 1-1 draw in the relegation duel at home against Arco, the Überetscher have one and a half legs in the national league.

SSV Ahrntal's relegation seems to be just a formality, as it played a goalless draw away from Bozner FC. But one point is enough for the Talferstadt team to secure second place. Pursuers FC Obermais drew 2-2 in the top game against fourth-placed St. Georgen.

The performances of Naturns and Brixen were very clear affairs: While the club from the Lower Vinschgau scored a convincing 5-1 against Lavis, the cathedral townspeople were “whipped off” by champions Trento with a 7-0 score.
