Oberliga: Will Ahrntal find its way out of the crisis?

Both the blue-whites from the Passerstadt and their rivals from the Ahrntal had to clearly admit defeat on the last match day. While the Obermaiser team can be forgiven for their slip-up against the future promoted team Fersina, the Pustertal team is on fire after their recent series of bankruptcies.

Voppichler and Co. were unable to win any of the six games in the second half of the season. Most recently there were four defeats in a row against Eppan, Trento, Albiano and Tramin - and a total of no fewer than twelve goals conceded. The unexpected resignation of coach Markus Rieder, whose motives suggest disagreements within the club, provided additional fuel. His successor, the previous assistant coach Reinhard Niederkofler, was sometimes unable to turn things around.

On Sunday, the long-term injured top performers Manuel Pipperberger and Christoph Maurberger are again missing from SSV Ahrntal. Philipp Aichner and top scorer Florian Niederkofler should return to the team.

Obermais has to use two players, Davide Ioris and Alexander Pohl, due to a yellow card suspension. Offensive player Theo Pamer is moving back into the starting lineup. Obermais wants to take revenge for the 0-3 defeat against Fersina on the previous match day; the Merano team had previously remained undefeated in three games in a row.
