Oberliga: Wednesday is derby time

Despite the recent sharp drop in temperatures, it will be very hot in the Bruneck school zone on Wednesday evening: That's where St. Georgen meets Ahrntal in the big derby. A duel that contains explosive elements in many respects. Starting with the table constellation: While St. Georgen wants to maintain its recently conquered second place, Ahrntal has gained a lot of self-confidence in the relegation battle with three games without defeat. But otherwise, St. Georgen against Ahrntal represents a parade derby: friction is just as important as well as memorable scenes, with the energetic audience always contributing to the unique atmosphere.

Brixen has said goodbye to the relegation battle On the other hand, tempers are likely to be much calmer in the game between St. Martin and Tramin: both teams are in a secure midfield position and can play freely. Brixen probably won't have to worry about the relegation battle in the future either: the Eisacktalers seem to have found their way back to their old strength in the second half of the season and were able to win four of the six games. A hot duel awaits in the home game against Naturns, also because the Vinschgers have recently found their way back on the right track after initial difficulties.

Gourmet football in Girlan, Virtus with a compulsory task Quality football is guaranteed in the fourth South Tyrolean derby: Two of the strongest teams in the league, Eppan and Bozner FC, meet in the Rungghof in Girlan. The fact that the match will be played on an artificial turf pitch is of course a big advantage for the technically experienced players. Leaders Virtus Bozen, on the other hand, are the only South Tyrolean team to face a team from the neighboring province: Hofer & Co. are in action in Lavis and have secured three points against the local team.
