Oberliga: St. Georgen in a scoring frenzy, Brixen in crisis

Patrizio Morini's team is currently in exhilarating form, won the third game of the season comfortably and is increasingly underlining their title ambitions. On Sunday, Harrasser & Co. beat Brixen 6-2, with Thomas Albanese, Thomas Piffrader and Stefan Nagler each scoring a brace. While the “Jergina” are now the sole leaders of the table, Brixen is in crisis: The Eisacktaler had to accept their third defeat in the third game and have already conceded 13 goals.

FC Obermais has also not yet got going: last year's surprise team suffered their second defeat of the season against Benacense with a 1-2 defeat and only has one point in the table.

Balance is key The second South Tyrolean duel between Naturns and Ahrntal started 15 minutes late (the long traffic jams were fatal for some of the “Teldra” players) and ended 0-0. Tramin also didn't get past a goalless draw in the away game against Arco.

Balance was also the trump card on Friday: in the two early games, St. Pauls and St. Martin (0-0) and Bozner FC and Virtus Bozen (2-2) were drawn.

There was a shortage of goals in the league on the third matchday - just not in St. Georgen, where the “Jergina” caused a goal spectacle against Brixen.
