Oberliga season 2012-13: This is SC Plose

The fans of SC Plose had to wait a long time for the historic moment, but on May 29, 2011 the time had finally come: after several attempts, the club from St. Andrä made it into the top league for the first time in the club's history.

In the first league season, Plose's survival was hanging by a thread for a long time and it was only on the last match day that they pulled their head out of the loop when they scored the much celebrated equalizer against Eppan in the final phase.

While the league rivals are busy working on the new squad and sparing no expense, SC Plose is taking a different approach in order to achieve the goal of staying in the league in the coming season. The team, which consists almost entirely of local players, is relying on the integration of youth players and will tackle the second league season almost unchanged.

Additions

As after the sensational promotion to the top league a year ago, the club management is sticking with the entire team. This is made up exclusively of players from the Brixen area. Only midfielder Mathis Kirchler (born 1995) was brought on board. He comes from state league team Vahrn. In addition, the junior players Alexander Ellemund, Lukas Schatzer, Florian Messner, Moritz Lerchegger, Tobias Oberhofer and Alex Goller were promoted to the first team.

departures Offensive player Alex Mair is stepping down a bit for professional reasons and will hunt for goals for Schabs in the future, while Christian Untersteiner is moving to Mühlbach in the 1st Amateuliga. Simon Oberrauch will take a break after a season marred by injuries.

Start of training and test matches

SC Plose started preparing for the season on July 17th and played the first test match on July 25th in Reischach against Bruneck, in which the Eisacktal team had the upper hand 3-1. This weekend Matthias Regele & Co. in Natz will be in action at the traditional preparatory tournament for the “Peintner Tiles” trophy, where they will be on the pitch against Natz, Obermais and Teis/Villnöß. Before the Italian Cup there are two more friendly matches: the first on August 10th (Milland) and the second on August 14th (Steinegg). In the first round of the Italian Cup, the footballers from St. Andrä will meet Natz and Milland.
