We should stop glorifying investor money." In any case, the spin-off of the professional teams is "not a panacea. If you are a prune, you remain a prune - whether in the registered club or the corporation." In the direction of HSV he said: "We don't have one patron like Klaus-Michael Kühne, but 25.000. Our members." The 50+1 rule is intended to prevent investors from taking over the majority of a company into which a club has spun off its professional team. The parent club must therefore hold 50 percent of the shares plus one share of the vote. Exceptions in the Bundesliga are Bayer Leverkusen (Bayer), VfL Wolfsburg (Volkswagen) and 1899 Hoffenheim (Dietmar Hopp). President Martin Kind is currently fighting for an exception at Hannover 96 against the resistance of many fans. According to Rettig, the “birth defect” of 50+1 is that capital shares and voting shares are seen separately. "It might have been something we should have agreed upon together." He also warned against money flows from dubious sources: "I lack the imagination that we would be able to determine where the capital comes from if we have an unchecked inflow of money."
