Cup: The semi-finals can begin

Then there were only five. There are only five teams left in the cup and will determine the two finalists in a group of three and a group of two. Obermais, Virtus Bozen and Voran Leifers form the group of three and will only face each other once, while St. Georgen and Latsch will meet in a two-player circle and book their ticket to the final in a return match.

The first match day is on the program on Wednesday evening: Oberliga team Obermais welcomes state league team Voran Leifers to the Viehmarktplatz in Meran, while Virtus Bozen has no games. Things haven't been going so well for the Merano team so far, as 9 points from 9 league games underline. Most recently there was a 3-2 victory against Lavis. The state league championship is also not going quite as planned for Leifers, which is one of the secret favorites in the fight for the title in the country's second highest league, but is currently not making it past eighth place.

St. Georgen favored In the second duel of the evening, St. Georgen is the clear favorite in the away game at Latsch: The “Jergina” are comfortably leading the league table - even though the derby against the former bottom team Ahrntal was only 0-0 on Sunday - there was a draw. Latsch, on the other hand, circles in the lower midfield of the regional league table, but has already eliminated the two upper division teams St. Pauls and Naturns in the cup.

Both games start on Wednesday at 20 p.m.
