Serie A teams in the first test run of the season

The International Champions Cup is a preparatory tournament for elite teams from all over Europe. Participants include the reigning Champions League winners Real Madrid and the Bundesliga record champions FC Bayern.

Juve young star breaks Bayern's neck The three Serie A teams taking part in the competition, Juventus, Roma and Milan, scored a total of four points on the first matchday. The Turin team secured the first three points in the competition with a 2-0 win against FC Bayern. The 21-year-old newcomer Andrea Favilli played a key role in the success, scoring twice and being the only goalscorer of the game. FC Bayern certainly had a chance to score a goal, but they lacked the final consistency in the finish. It was a day to forget for the Roma. The capital city team played against Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur. Roma took the lead in the third minute with a goal from Patrick Schick, but conceded the equalizer in the ninth minute. Tottenham added three goals and went into the break with a solid 4-1. The score did not change in the second half. ManU wins penalty spectacle Milan, on the other hand, was unhappy. Manchester United took the lead in the twelfth minute and Suso was able to equalize just three minutes later. There wasn't much of a goal in regular time. The game was therefore decided on penalties. After 26 (!) Penalties taken, the Premier League club won the game 10:9.

Two other games also took place. Benfica Lisbon was able to defeat Borussia Dortmund on penalties after a 2-2 draw in regular time. Premier League winners Manchester City lost 2-1 to Champions League finalists Liverpool.
