Series D: St. Georgen shows its fighting heart

Olginatese, which has yet to lose a game this year, started strongly. The guests from the province of Lecco promptly took the lead when De Angeli gave up Pasquazzo in the 24th minute. The young goalie was given preference over Patrick Pietersteiner. Four minutes before the end of the first half, the home team equalized through the young Philipp Schwingshackl (born in 1995).

After the break, less than a quarter of an hour had been played when Molnar (a player born in 1994) shot the guests into the lead again in the 57th minute. After conceding this goal, the home team pressed for an equalizer, but initially there were no more than three corners. Afterwards, Bachlechner, Hansi Mair and Peter Mair awarded several top-class players almost every minute. When Bachlechner was substituted, coach Morini demonstrated his good skills, as it revitalized the offensive.

Peter “Magic” Mair’s big moment came in the final phase, who equalized in the 86th minute. After a free kick, Ghislanzoni was only able to give a quick high-five and Mair scored in top scoring style. Nothing noteworthy happened in stoppage time.

“St. Georgen always showed character, even in defeat. I am very happy and would like to congratulate the team on this achievement because we played against one of the best teams and were behind twice. Now we have to carry on and build on this achievement. Thomas Bachlechner? We don't need to discuss him. He is an extremely important player for us and he demonstrated that impressively after coming on as a substitute. Unfortunately I couldn't take him from the start because he wasn't feeling well. I hope he can be there from the first minute on Sunday,” said coach Patrizio Morini after the game.

Series D: St. Georgen shows its fighting heart

On the eleventh matchday in Serie D, the “Jergina” faced Olginatese on All Saints Day. The South Tyrolean club once again proved to be the stand-up man of the league: despite falling behind twice, in the end the Morini youngsters got a more than deserved point.
