Game turned: FCS ends a long losing streak against Pordenone

In the home game against the fifth-placed team, FCS coach William Viali relied on the same team that had achieved a 2-2 draw with leaders Sambenedettese last weekend. So there were three kickers from the local province in the white and red starting line-up: Fabian Tait, Michael Cia and Hannes Fink.

However, the game started with a cold shower for FC Südtirol, as Pordenone took the lead in the ninth minute. After a guest corner, keeper Marcone initially reacted brilliantly against Arma, but had no chance when Semenzato's follow-up shot. However, the FCS didn't let the early deficit bother them and continued to gain more and more field shares.

In the 26th minute, the white-red team's work was rewarded for the first time: Pordenone playmaker Burrai was only able to stop Tulli, who had broken through, with an emergency brake and was sent to the shower early after his unfair attack. Just a few minutes later, FC Südtirol took advantage of its numerical superiority for the first time. After Sarzi's pass, Tulli got the ball in the center and scored safely to make it 1-1. Shortly before the half-time whistle, Ciurria caused danger again with a right-footed shot, but visiting goalkeeper D'Arsiè was able to defuse his shot without any problems.

Obodo takes the lead, Spagnoli takes the final score The FCS carried the momentum from the first 45 minutes into the second half. About a quarter of an hour after the break, the White-Reds once again converted their offensive efforts into something countable: Cia brought a corner into the middle, where Obodo was in the right position and nodded in to make it 2-1. With the advantage behind them, the Viali team became a bit more aggressive, but missed two good opportunities with Obodo and Tait.

Shortly before the end, substitute Alberto Spagnoli made the decision in favor of FC Südtirol: following a Tait cross, the offensive man heaved the ball into the net on the third attempt and made it 3-1. The Joker's goal was ultimately the final score. For Fink and Co., the win against Pordenone was synonymous with the end of a long dry spell - the white-reds had not achieved complete success in the league for almost two months.

FC Südtirol can still win in the league: On the tenth matchday of the Lega Pro Championship, Fink and Co. celebrated a 3-1 win against Pordenone and thus captured their first “threesome” since August 27th.
