Steinegg's dream has finally shattered: Hochpustertal is rising!

On May 29th, Steinegg celebrated promotion to the 1st amateur league after a 0-1 win against Val Gardena. What no one could have known at the time: The simultaneous defeat of leader Barbian Villanders against relegated Aicha was converted into a 3-0 victory at the green table a few days later. So the Steineggers had celebrated in vain.

The team from the high plateau had to fight for promotion again in the playoffs. After a clear 3-0 at the start against Haslach, this venture was stopped on Wednesday evening: in the all-important game against Hochpustertal, which defeated Feldthurns on penalties in the semi-final, Steinegg lost 0-2.

The Pustertal team had already set the course for victory after just four minutes when Philip Pfeifhofer took advantage of a mistake in the Steinegg defense to score the lead. Afterwards, Hochpustertal was slightly inferior, but withstood the pressure from Steinegg. Philipp Rainer finally secured the decision with his goal in the last minute of stoppage time and triggered extensive celebrations on the sidelines and in the stands below the Toblach supporters. The promotion of AFC Hochpustertal was thus sealed - and Steinegg will have to make a new attempt next season to finally secure a place in the first division.

In the second duel between Feldthurns and Haslach, only third place in the deciding round was on the agenda. Feldthurns won this thanks to a 2-1 win.
