St. Georgen very close to promotion, Bozen 96 relegated

It was already clear before kick-off that St.Georgen could secure a preliminary decision in the promotion battle with an away win against their pursuers Salurn. And that's exactly how it happened: Thanks to a narrow 1-0 win, Jörgina were able to extend their lead in the table to six points. Hansi Mayr scored the decisive goal for coach Morini's team in the ninth minute of the game. Salurn tried to make up for the deficit from the opening phase, but was unable to overcome the best defense in the league throughout the game and slipped to fourth place after this painful defeat against the league leaders. St.Georgen, on the other hand, is taking another big, and probably decisive, step towards Serie D three match days before the end of the championship.

The first decision has also been made in the relegation battle: Despite the 3-1 win in the early Saturday game, Bozen 96 can no longer avoid relegation to the national league due to Rovereto's points win in the game against Fersina.

In the two South Tyrolean derbies on matchday 27, Ahrntal (4-0 against Obermais) and Eppan (1-0 in Naturns) achieved important victories. Thanks to the three hard-fought points, Eppan made it to third place in the table.
