South Tyrol is in the quarter-finals - Ladin suffers a 0-6 defeat

After the gala performance on Sunday and the 8-0 win against the Hungarian Germans, the South Tyrolean team found it a little more difficult against the Russian Karachaj a day later. This was not only due to the great heat (it was almost 30 degrees in Panschwitz), but above all due to the rough nature of the opponent, who came in too hard time and time again. Although the 3-0 victory was never in danger, the Karachay did not do enough for the match to make it a “nice” game.

Coach Villgrater once again put Patrick Pietersteiner in goal. The debutants Armin Rung and Gabriel Brugger, as well as Roland Harrasser and Benjamin Althuber played in defense. Ritsch and Fischer once again pulled the strings in the midfield center, while Hansi Mair, Rainer and Pamer formed the offensive midfield, as on Sunday. The only striker wasn't Peter Mair, this time it was Hansjörg Stockner.

The South Tyroleans dominated the game from the first minute, had much more of the game and supposedly took the lead in the 13th minute. Ritsch's goal was disallowed because the Brixen midfielder was offside. So the score was 1-0 after a penalty. Rainer was elbowed in the penalty area, Hansi Mair grabbed the ball, looked out for the goalie and made it 1-0 (26th).

Even after that, the South Tyroleans were superior and cleverly let the ball run through their own ranks, but were unable to break through the dense network of Karatschaj players. Nevertheless, the second goal came in stoppage time when Ritsch took courage and shot from the edge of the penalty area to give the keeper the disadvantage; Pamer took a corner short (45th+1).

Villgrater is changing three players this time too

After the break, coach Villgrater once again made full use of his substitution quota and substitute Peter Mair made everything clear with a 88-3 win in the 0th minute. The attacker from Serie D club St. Georgen grabbed the ball, did everything on his own and pushed the ball into the far corner with his right. There was no sign of the opponents throughout the game - apart from a few unnecessary, hard fouls.

Thanks to the victory, South Tyrol moved into the quarter-finals, where the home team will probably face the Occitanians from France.

The Ladins, however, were defeated 6-0 by the Croats in Serbia and were unable to build on Sunday's good performance, when the Dapunt team beat the North Frisians 2-0. On Tuesday, Palfrader & Co. will face Western Thrace from Turkey for a place in the round of the last eight.

With a victory over Russia's Karatschaj, South Tyrol qualified for the quarter-finals of the Europeada. The Ladins, on the other hand, were given six against the Croatians in Serbia.
