Thomas Veronese moves to St. Georgen

With the 25-year-old defensive player Thomas Veronese, the “Jergina” secured the services of a former regular player at FC Südtirol. Veronese comes from Mestre and before joining FC Südtirol he played for Belluno in Serie C2 and Trentino Calcio in Serie D.

He played a total of 86 games for FC Südtirol in three years. Before Veronese moved to FC Bozen 96 and made it to the top league this year, after his FCS adventure he played one season each for Bassano in the C2 and C1, as well as for Montichiari (C2).

But that's not all, because St. Georgen also announced the contract extension of five players on Friday. With vice-captain Roland Harrasser, Gabriel Brugger, Armin Mayr, Hansi Mair and Peter Mair, five important players will also wear the Jergina jersey in the new season.

Section head Georg Brugger was very satisfied with his transactions on the player market: “Veronese's cleverness and experience will certainly benefit us greatly. Armin, Hansi and Peter, on the other hand, were important pillars in the fight to stay in the league and I am very happy that they will be with us at least for another year! All three fit into our team very well, both in terms of play and personality, and have settled in well with us. Roland and Gabriel are important pillars in defense and both have proven this year that they can keep up in Serie D without any problems,” Brugger is quoted on the ASC St. Georgen homepage.

Roland Harrasser was the only Jergina player to play all of the games this year and is now an integral part of the left defense. Gabriel Brugger shone in central defense primarily with his physical presence and was an important source of support.

They emphasized how important Armin Mayr, Hansi and Peter Mair are for Jergina in the play out. After assists from Mayr, Peter scored two goals in the first leg and Hansi scored three in the second leg against Montecchio Maggiore.

Thomas Veronese moves to St. Georgen
