Death of Reyes: Moving farewell words from his son

Jose Reyes Lopez (11) is the eldest son of the late soccer star. Although the former Arsenal player is no longer with little Jose's mother, father and son appear to have been very close. The son posted a photo on Instagram and wrote:

“This was the last moment we spent together, Dad. That day, like always, you gave me advice. But today (Saturday, editor's note) you left without returning, and that's very hard for me! I was and am very proud of you, dad. We didn't spend as much time together as we wanted, but only you and I know how much we loved each other. I know you will watch over me from heaven and I will never forget you!! I love you, Dad!! Thanks to everyone for the lovely news.”

The grief wasn't just great among the family. The shock was also deep in the football world. “Torn, destroyed. I have no words. All love to the family,” wrote Real star Sergio Ramos. Unai Emery, Reyes' coach at Sevilla FC, also mourned: “I will never forget your magic and your laughter, José. It was an honor to stand by your side.”
