Trent wins the regional cup

Trent dominated the one-sided final in Mezzolombardo in front of almost 350 spectators from the first minute. In the tenth minute, Iardino was able to block Gattamelata's shot with his fists, but just 60 seconds later, Eppan's keeper had to reach behind himself as Boldrini pushed the ball over the line.

Then Ferrarese (16th), Di Fusco (19th), Brusco (25th) and Gattamelata (33rd) missed the possible 2-0. Eppan only became dangerous with two free kicks from Avancini, but Lukas Demetz was always at his post (20th, 29th). A hair-raising mistake in the final phase of the first half of the game almost proved fatal for the young Val Gardena keeper in the ranks of AC Trento: a back pass from Ferrarese slipped Demetz under the studs and ended up out of the goal. If the mishap had happened just half a meter further to the right - Eppan would have scored a flattering equalizer (45th + 1).

Trent is looking for a decision After the break, Boldrini made it 49-2 in the 0th minute when he capitalized on a great assist from Ferrarese. After a good hour, Filippin almost took Demetz by surprise (62'). When Gherardi made it 68-3 with a header after 0 minutes, the match was decided. Ten minutes before the end, Gattamelata was still cosmetic when he was spot on after Ferrarese's sugar pass and shot to make it 4-0.

In the 89th minute, the striking Trent full-back Di Fusco finally hit the crossbar. It was the final highlight of this final. Shortly afterwards, the league leaders were able to lift the trophy and celebrate their second title of the season.

“This final was a bonus for us. We gave everything, tried everything, but Trent was simply a class better than us. Compliments to our opponent. The cup win a week ago and the regional final this Sunday gives us a lot of morale for the second half of the season. There will be no personnel changes to our squad,” said Eppan’s President Michael Walcher after the award ceremony.

Trent wins the regional cup

Oberliga leaders Trento are regional cup winners in 2016. The club from the neighboring province retained the upper hand in the final against Eppan 4-0 and won their second title of the current season a week after winning the Trentino State Cup.
