Türkiye: Player allegedly injures opponent with razor blade

There was a scandal in the heated derby between the Turkish third division teams Amed SK and Sakaryaspor. Amed player Mansur Calar is accused of smuggling a razor blade onto the pitch. He is said to have used this to cut his opponents on the field in several small altercations.

In several video scenes you can see how Calar hides an object in the palm of his hand and thus seeks contact with his opponents.

Opponents show Calar According to the Turkish news agency DHA, several Sakaryaspor players have already reported him and police investigations have already been initiated.

Some Sakaryanspor players posted their cut injuries on social media, providing evidence. Meanwhile, the Amed SK club denies the allegations and accuses the opponent of “wanting to denigrate their club with baseless allegations”. The club is convinced that Calar had no weapons on the field.

Former Wolfsburg player Ferhat Yazgan also posted a picture of his injuries and called on the Turkish Football Association (TFF) to act and investigate the case.
