Virtus Bozen scores a point at Cavenago Fanfulla

Because Cavenago Fanfulla started strongly, Virtus Bozen was forced back into their own half at the start of the game. After an initial increase in chances for the home team, the South Tyrolean club also had their first opportunities, but were unable to convert them into goals. Towards the end of the first half, however, the Green-Whites weakened themselves when Gianmaria Conci had to take an early shower after his second yellow card. Contrary to expectations, the Bolzano team took the lead just a few moments later: De Simone broke through on the wing and crossed into the center, where attacker Matteo Timpone beat keeper Guerci and scored to make it 1-0. The goal from the former Germany legionnaire was also the score at halftime.

However, Bolzano's narrow lead lasted less than ten minutes, because immediately after the break, Gestra made it 1-1 with a penalty kick (Zentil had previously brought down Spampatti). Playing in the majority, Cavenago Fanfulla became increasingly overweight, but repeatedly struggled with the Lomi team's defense. With a quarter of an hour to go, Virtus had a great chance to take the lead again: Speziale was illegally stopped in the home side's penalty area, so the referee pointed to the ominous spot again. In contrast to Cavenago player Gestra, Virtus defender Zentil did not keep his nerve and missed the penalty. The people of Bolzano were then unlucky when a Cremonini goal was disallowed due to offside, before Virtus goalkeeper Tenderini rose above himself in the 93rd minute and made a brilliant save to keep the score 1-1.
