Early end to the season: Chile's football bows to the unrest

After around six weeks of social unrest in the country, with an official death toll of 23, Chile's football association ANFP has ended the domestic league season early. Universidad Catolica were declared champions with a 13-point lead with six matchdays remaining. The semi-finals and the final of the national cup, which were actually scheduled for December, were postponed to January.
