The past football year for Sarner was unusually long. Since they finished the season in third-to-last place, they went into the playoff against Valdaora, which they ultimately won 2-1 and kept their league.

At the same time, this rescue also initiated a change: coach Ralph Hofer was replaced by Christian Dorigatti from Nals in the summer. And a lot has happened in terms of the squad: with Martin Thaler, Thomas Gross and Marco Isabella, three important pillars have hung up their kicks, captain Thomas Kröss and Julian Nussbaumer are taking a creative break. Bernd Saltuari, Sarner's top scorer with eleven goals last season, has decided to play for Ritten in the 2nd amateur league in the future, while Felix and Ivan Hofer (study reasons) and Ronald Aichhorner (at St. Pauls) also not will be more involved.

The club management has reacted to the numerous departures and brought players from “outside” to the Sarntal for the first time in years.
