Ten FCS players in Piacenza are fighting a losing battle

Coach Giovanni Stroppa quickly had to throw the tactical plans overboard: three minutes had been played when Alessandro broke through and was the last man to be taken off his feet by Brugger - a clear emergency stop that the referee acknowledged with the Pusterer's early exclusion. Afterwards, FC Südtirol was in a state of shock and had to find itself. Hannes Fink had the best chance when he first fired a dangerous long-range shot and then deflected Bandini's subsequent corner onto the outside post (9th). Otherwise there wasn't much to see of the white and reds. Pro Piacenza dominated the game, repeatedly pushed the Stroppa team into their own half and also had a few good chances. After 27 minutes, Rufini broke through on the right and played into the middle, where Barba shot wide of the goal from eight meters, completely alone. However, the 1-0 win for the home team came in the first half: after a short corner kick, Carrus placed the ball on the edge of the penalty area and then put it dry into the back of the net. In what had been a poor game up to that point, FC Südtirol appeared drained and weak. Gliozzi was mostly on his own in the attack, so the White-Reds didn't really have any significant opportunities as the first half progressed.

Crovetto with the best chance of equalizing After the break, things improved for the FCS, even if only minimally: Fink & Co. tried to take control, but were too playful in front of the opponent's goal. As a result, it took until the 79th minute before Bandini sent a cross to the back post, but Crovetto's direct shot from a tight angle went into the side netting. In return, Alessandro appeared completely alone in front of Miori and passed it across to Speziale, who just had to push the ball in - the decision.

With the defeat, the FCS also missed out on taking part in next year's Italian Cup, as the gap to ninth place is four points with one game to go.
