Second defeat in a row: FC Südtirol lost to Pordenone 0-1

Against the best attack in the league, coach William Viali had to do without the suspended Bassoli and the two injured Baldan and Fortunato. In defense, Davide Riccardi celebrated his season debut, and captain Fink and Broh returned to the starting line-up in midfield. In the attack, Viali once again placed his trust in the Rantier-Tulli-Gliozzi trio.

Pordenone had the better opportunities in the first half. The first major upset came in the 15th minute when the FCS defense team was too clumsy in the penalty area after the home team hit the post and caused a penalty kick. However, goalkeeper Marcone was able to defuse this. Just three minutes later, Podrenone took the lead: Padovan was cleared by Sucio and scored with a well-placed shot to make it 1-0. Cattaneo could then have increased the score to 2-0, but his shot went wide of the goal.

Before the break, FC Südtirol only appeared somewhat dangerous in front of the opposing goal through Gliozzi. However, the Sturmtank's shot attempts were either blocked or were too imprecise, so that FCS couldn't score anything in the first 45 minutes.

Few chances to score in the second half After the break, the White-Reds did more for the game, but without necessarily getting in front of the home team's goal. While Pordenone cleverly closed the spaces, the Viali team had a very difficult time on the offensive and could hardly get through. The best opportunities came from Gliozzi with a header and Tulli with a shot from the turn - but the two strikers also failed to equalize. So after 90 minutes it remained 0-1 from South Tyrol's perspective. Fink and Co. not only suffered their second defeat in a row, but also remain in the immediate vicinity of the playout places: with nine rounds to go, the “hot zone” of the classification is still only three points away.
