Colledani and Oberpaleiter cheer in Laives

Almost 300 cyclists took part in the eighth edition of the event organized by the Ciclistica Altair cycling club. The circuit in the lowlands with start and finish in the sports zone is one of the most demanding of the entire circuit and attracted athletes from all over northern Italy to Laives. In the men's race, U23 athlete Nadir Colledani was unbeatable. After an exciting fight, the Italian champion left Martino Fruet and Thomas Paccagnella behind. Andrea Dori from Team Zanolini Bike Prof. ASD was the best South Tyrolean in ninth place and was crowned national champion. In the women's field, local hero Anna Oberpaleiter celebrated her fourth win of the season. The Olanger woman, who had to miss last week in Bolzano due to illness, relegated Elena Leonardi and Giovanna Michieletto to second and third place. Julia Tanner (ABC Egna Neumarkt) came in ninth and won the national championship title.

A South Tyrolean victory and two more podium places in the remaining categories In the first men's amateur class, Carmine Del Riccio (Sunshine Racers ASV Nals) continued his winning streak and secured the only local victory of the day alongside that of Anna Oberpaleiter. At the same time as his victory, Del Riccio also captured the national champion's jersey. The two other South Tyrolean podium places went to local hero Paolo Perini (SC Altair) in the third amateur category and Christina Thurner (Sunshine Racers ASV Nals) in the schoolgirl field. While Perini came in second, Thurner came in third. Both were also crowned national champions in their respective categories.

Colledani and Oberpaleiter cheer in Laives

A week after the 24th edition of the “Trophy of the City of Bozen”, Leifers was at the center of South Tyrolean cycling on Sunday, as the sixth stage of the Triveneto Cup in cyclocross took place there. The race was also counted as the state championship in cyclocross.
