124 tournament participants in England under contract

124 players from the final round participants earned their money in the Premier League and League Championship last season, according to the squad lists published on Monday. 81 players come from Spanish clubs and 67 from the two top German leagues.

Switzerland has the largest contingent with ten participants from the Bundesliga, four of which come from Borussia Mönchengladbach alone. Japan (7) and Croatia (4) also rely on plenty of Bundesliga power. However, 13 countries are completely without Germany legionnaires in their 23-man squads, which had to be reported to FIFA by Monday lunchtime. Eleven players come from FC Bayern From the federal leagues, FC Bayern (11) once again has the most World Cup starters, ahead of Borussia Mönchengladbach and Borussia Dortmund (7 each) and Eintracht Frankfurt (6). In addition to the seven German national players, Robert Lewandowski (Poland), Thiago (Spain), James Rodriguez (Colombia) and Corentin Tolisso (France) come from Munich. In international comparison, however, the German record champions are losing their top position; in 2014, 15 World Cup players came from Bayern.
