Referee Nestor Pitana leads the opening game of the World Cup

Argentine referee Nestor Pitana will officiate the opening game of the World Cup between hosts Russia and Saudi Arabia in Moscow on Thursday (17.00 p.m. CEST). The world association FIFA announced this on Tuesday.
