“The cold temperatures suit me, my material is simply great in such conditions. In the end it was close and I guess I had luck on my side,” beamed Gruber at the finish. “I like this track and the fact that I was able to improve again in the second run makes me positive. “I’m happy about the silver, it was a great day,” explained Scheikl. Pigneter also took stock with satisfaction after his eighth individual medal at the European Championships: “I'm not that happy with the first run, so I wanted to do better in the final. I’m happy that I made it and now have the medal in my hands.” The winning teams in the team competition.

In the final team competition, defending champion Italy with Evelin Lanthaler/Alex Gruber beat Austria (Tina Unterberger/Michael Scheikl) in 2.06,80:XNUMX minutes. The bronze medal went to Russia (Ekaterina Lavrenteva/Aleksandr Egorov).
