Novouralsk: Pigneter/Clara in third place at the start

The brothers Christian and Andreas Schopf won the first doubles competition of the season with a lead of a hundredth of a second. With their victory, the Austrians prevented a Russian success, because behind them were Aleksandr Egerov/Petr Popov (RUS), who were able to repeat their previous year's form and thus defeated the experienced Russian doubles Pavel Porshnev/Ivan Lazarev in the internal Russian duel.
