Patrick Pigneter and Greta Pinggera are the new national toboggan champions

A total of 64 tobogganers took part in the title fights, which were organized by ASV Feldthurns. In the men's race, after the first run, Pigneter and Villandro's Alex Gruber were in the lead at the same time. Pigneter then set a superior fastest time in the second round and won the national championship title with a lead of 72 hundredths over Gruber. Third place went to Florian Clara from Val Badia (+1,23 seconds) ahead of Anton Blasbichler from Rodengo (+1,32). The Villnöss junior Dominik Profanter drove the fifth best time, 2,52 seconds behind Pigneter, but crossed the finish line ahead of World Cup rider Florian Breitenberger. Profanter surprisingly won the junior title, ahead of Thomas Unterholzner from Völlan, who won the overall junior World Cup just last week.

Greta Pinggera wins ahead of world champion Evelin Lanthaler

In the women's race, the gold medal went to 20-year-old Greta Pinggera from Lasa, who was behind Sara Bachmann in the first run, but was then able to defeat her in the second run. In the end, Pinggera was 64 hundredths ahead of Bachmann, who was also overtaken by world champion Evelin Lanthaler and had to settle for third place. The junior overall World Cup winner Alexandra Pfattner from Latzfons, who is still starting among the candidates, achieved the fourth best time. 13-year-old Nina Zöggeler, the daughter of the toboggan legend Armin Zöggeler, won the state championship title for pupils, narrowly ahead of Verena Hofer from Feldthurn. Patrick Pigneter and Florian Clara also won the doubles in Villnöss ahead of Armin Folie and Elias Gruber from the Passeier toboggan club. The overall winners of the Senior World Cup won ahead of the overall winners of this year's Junior World Cup. The natural track toboggan season isn't over yet. This weekend the 47th Italian Championship will take place in Val Gardena on Plan de Gralba, the last race of this winter.
