Snowboard: The final decisions are made in Sierra Nevada

A total of three will be awarded in the parallel giant slalom on Wednesday, March 20th. While the women's fight for the PGS World Cup title and the Parallel Overall World Cup will be close, especially between Patrizia Kummer (Switzerland) and Marion Kreiner (Austria), the men's fight will be a repeat of the 2012 showdown.

Omar Visintin from Algund still has a chance of a top 3 placement in the overall World Cup. He is currently in fifth place with 2312 points, behind Markus Schairer (2800 points), Christopher Robanske (2382) and Nick Baumgartner (2360).

The freestyle snowboarders will end the 2013 season with a slopestyle contest on March 25th (qualification) and 26th (semifinals, finals) and a halfpipe competition on March 27th. The slopestyle aces in particular enjoy a special position. Unlike the other disciplines, due to the ongoing Olympic qualification, not only the best 50 of the current World Cup ranking are allowed to take part, but everyone who has the necessary FIS points.

The two Norwegians Kjersti Buaas and Torstein Horgmo have collected the most World Cup points in the discipline so far. The two South Tyroleans Marco Grigis and Simon Gruber, however, are in 41st and 42nd place respectively in the slopestyle rankings. The two Americans Kelly Clark (uncatchable) and Scott Lago are currently in the lead in the Halfpipe World Cup.

Snowboard: The final decisions are made in Sierra Nevada

From March 20th to 27th, the snowboard world elite will meet at the FIS Snowboard World Cup finals in the Sierra Nevada. At the snowboarders' second season finale in Spain after 2010 (La Molina), the World Cup title is still at stake in three of the four disciplines on the program.
