Beach volley: Record registrations at the national championships

The 2023 Beach Volleyball State Championships took place in Bruneck this weekend. Hundreds of athletes from all over the province flocked to the Pustertal. The tournament received the highest number of registrations and surpassed all previous records.

Including the mixed tournament taking place on August 15, 188 teams have registered, making the event the largest beach volleyball tournament ever held in the province. Among those registered were athletes from the Italian youth beach volleyball team and a Serie A player from ITAS Trento. Christian Tomei, President of the Italian Volleyball Federation of Bolzano, was also present to award the best young people on Sunday.

The relevant data is the presence of no less than 97 youth teams, a milestone that fully lives up to the spirit that guides the Raiffeisen Beachcup: to introduce young people to beach volleyball and to make them compete against each other in various tournaments to help them to give the opportunity to continue to improve and thus grow the beach volleyball movement across the country.

188 teams registered for the beach volleyball tournament.

In the men's category, Peter Seeber and Thomas Berger won the title, defeating Markus Gröber and Hanni Theo Hanni 2-1 in a spectacular final (15:07/07:15/11:09). The third step of the podium went to Joy Senoner and Kevin Huber. In the women's race, Ventilator Ines Ventiler and Lea Weithaler won 2-1 over Nora Gasser and Annika Bachmann (13:15/15:12/11:08). Third place went to Seeber Eva Seeber and Anja Burgmann. The athletes in the youth categories delivered excellent competitions and showed the fruits of the labor of the many clubs in the province that are involved in the sport.
