MTB-Transalp: Third victory in a row for Platzgummer and Janes

Walter Platzgummer and Silvano Janes are in a class of their own in the Senior Master category (total age over 100 years). They won for the third time in a row and lead the overall standings by 12,51 minutes ahead of the Swiss Bärti Bucher and Renato Burch, who came second again before the fourth stage. Walter Perkmann and Georg Niggl (Germany) secured third place, as in the first two stages.

Andreas Laner from Gais and Hansi Grasegger from Greinau took second place in the master class (total age over 80 years) for the third time. Once again they only had to admit defeat to the two professional mountain bikers Massimo Debertolis and Marzio Deho, who achieved the third fastest time on the third stage after 3:10:02 hours. Viktor Paris and Thomas Piazza from Sunshineracers Nals achieved another impressive result with fourth place. In the overall standings, Debertolis and Deho lead by 34,34 minutes over Andreas Laner and Hansi Grasegger.

In the mixed doubles, Daniel Jung and his German partner Katrin Neumann came in sixth place. Trentino's Claudio Segata and Lorenza Menapace finished in third place, while the victory went to Switzerland's Antonia Wipfli and Patrick Jauch.

In the men's category, East Tyrolean Alban Lakata, in a team with German partner Robert Mennen, repeated yesterday's victory, ahead of the duo Markus Kaufmann (AUT)/Thomas Stoll (SUI), who lead the overall standings with a lead of 4,55 minutes over today's winners . Mirko Celestino and Luca Ronchi were the best Italian team in fifth place, a position they also occupy in the overall ranking.

The fourth stage of the MTB-Transalp tomorrow leads from Nauders in Tyrol over 52,66 km and 1.888 meters in altitude to Scuol in the Engadin.

The third stage of the 15th Craft Bike Transalp led from Ischgl over 67,83 km and 2.720 meters in altitude to Nauders in Tyrol. The South Tyrolean mountain cyclists took a victory and a third place in the Senior Master category. They secured second place in the over 80s ranking.
