Napoli celebrates late win against Juve

In a turbulent final phase, Napoli secured a home win against Juventus on Sunday evening. Guest keeper Wojciech Szczesny saved a penalty in the 88th minute, but was powerless to take the follow-up shot.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia had put Napoli in the lead after 42 minutes in a varied first half, and Federico Chiesa equalized in the 81st minute. However, the home team were by no means shocked, continued to play forward and when Victor Osimhen was brought down in the penalty area around 5 minutes before the end, the VAR checked the scene. According to video evidence, there was finally a penalty. The person who was fouled himself stepped up and forgave. However, the Juve supporters barely had time to rejoice before Napoli's Giacomo Raspadori converted the rebound from Juve keeper Wojciech Szczesny.

Juve is in danger of losing further ground to leaders Inter. The Milanese, who have a comfortable lead of 12 points over second-placed Turin, will play at home against Genoa tomorrow, Monday, at the end of the 27th matchday. Bologna are now the surprise team of the moment and are still on course for the Champions League. The team from Emilia-Romagna celebrated their 6th win in a row away to Atalanta on Sunday and is now 4 points ahead of fifth-placed Roma in 4th place.
