The Barcelona players celebrated the championship title with joyful dances on the pitch on Sunday evening. It's just stupid that this happened in the home of the hated arch-rivals Espanyol.

FC Barcelona's celebration on Sunday evening the decisive 4:2 against Espanyol Barcelona only lasted for a few seconds. The new Spanish champions had just gathered for their first celebration at the center circle of city rivals Espanyol when angry fans of the hosts stormed the pitch.

The soccer chaotic people threw objects, attacked stewards and pushed towards the entrance to the locker room. Robert Lewandowski and Co. quickly fled into the catacombs and sought protection behind a police cordon.

“The celebration is normal, but I understand that we are not in our stadium and we cannot be disrespectful,” said Barça coach Xavi after the derby win. “I know this is difficult to control. But I told the players that they had better go in quickly.” According to the coach, the party continued there after the 4-2 win.
