After a serious riding accident: Rico released from hospital

Almost three months after his serious riding accident, PSG goalkeeper Sergio Rico has been released from hospital.

“I feel pretty good, even if the aneurysm is not completely under control yet,” Rico said on Friday alongside his wife Alba as they left the Virgen del Rocío hospital in Seville, where he had been for 82 days. The 29-year-old emphasized that he needed “a few more months of rest.” He will continue the recovery process at home.

The keeper of the French champion Paris Saint-Germain fell badly in a riding accident in his homeland of Andalusia on May 28th because the horse bolted. In the accident on the ground, Rico was kicked in the head by the animal and was seriously injured. According to the treating doctors, he suffered, among other things, a traumatic brain injury. After the accident, he was in a coma for several days in the intensive care unit in Seville.
