Salzburg conquers the Heidi Horten Arena

EC Red Bull Salzburg secured their first final game away in Klagenfurt with a narrow overtime victory. In doing so, they took home advantage away from the Red Jackets.

The defending champion started the final series of the ICE Ice Hockey League with an away win. Red Bull Salzburg won game one of the “best of seven” series in Klagenfurt against KAC on Friday 1-0 after extra time. Paul Huber became the match winner with his goal in the 65th minute. The second game takes place on Sunday (17.30 p.m.) in Salzburg.


The duel between the best team in the regular season and the defending champions was characterized by measured risk, consistent defensive work and strong goalkeepers on both sides. For the second time in league history there was no goal in the play-off in regular time. In extra time, Huber scored to win. “Pure emotions, I’m super happy,” explained the winning goalscorer in the Puls24 interview.
