Last year, Shaw was the top scorer in the regular season in the ICE Hockey League with 69 points (26 goals and 43 assists) and was also voted MVP. This year too he mostly delivered: 9 goals and 15 assists in the league and 10 scorer points (6 goals and 4 assists) in the Champions Hockey League. However, the Sharks have now parted ways with Shaw.

“In view of the values ​​that HC Innsbruck stands for, further cooperation is unfortunately impossible,” said the Haie’s general manager, Günther Hanschitz, in a short statement about Shaw’s expulsion. “Internal incidents” were crucial.
