What's going on here? Innsbruck throws out top strikers

On Wednesday evening, Brady Shaw shone as a goalscorer in the away game against HC Pustertal. Just two days later, the HC Innsbruck striker was shown the door.

Last year, Shaw was the top scorer in the regular season in the ICE Hockey League with 69 points (26 goals and 43 assists) and was also voted MVP. This year too he mostly delivered: 9 goals and 15 assists in the league and 10 scorer points (6 goals and 4 assists) in the Champions Hockey League. However, the Sharks have now parted ways with Shaw.

“In view of the values that HC Innsbruck stands for, further cooperation is unfortunately impossible,” said the Haie’s general manager, Günther Hanschitz, in a short statement about Shaw’s expulsion. “Internal incidents” were crucial. What exactly happened is not yet known. For no reason the table is 8th. But they didn't send one of their best attackers out the door.

In any case, Shaw will no longer be part of the squad on Friday in the North Tyrolean home game against the Vienna Capitals. HC Pustertal and HC Bozen are also playing at the same time. The Wolves recently had a crisis meeting.
