Algund-Vellau: Thomas Niederegger wins first mountain run

Thomas Niederegger and Hannes Rungger dictated the pace from the start. After three kilometers, the Vinschger then pulled away and won with a lead of 41 seconds over Rungger. Franco Torresani from Trento crossed the finish line in third place, three minutes behind. The women's race went to Francesca Iachemet in 36.47 minutes. The woman from Trento beat Edeltraud Thaler from Lana (37.43) and Johanna von Dellemann from Girlan (38.39).

Second stage of the “Winterlauf-Corrinverno 2014” on Saturday in Meran

The second stage of the “Winter Run-Corrinverno 2014” will take place next Saturday, February 22nd. OC boss Cesare D'Ereditá from the Meran association ASM is organizing this street race in Meran's old town for the first time this year. A 5 km circuit has to be completed twice. For youngsters there are competitions over 600 and 850 m on the spa promenade.
