Algund-Vellau: Thomas Niederegger wins first mountain run
Thomas Niederegger won the first mountain run of the new year from Algund to Vellau. The 29-year-old from Stelvio covered the 7 km route and 600 meters of altitude in almost spring-like temperatures in 29.59 minutes and relegated last year's winner Hannes Rungger to second place by 41 seconds. In the women's category, Francesca Iachemet from Trentino won. A total of 161 runners took part.
