Ladurner Grand Prix started in Kaltern

The new athletics season started in Kaltern on Sunday with the first stage of the Ladurner Grand Prix for the U1 and U14 age groups. The organizers were pleased with the huge fields of participants.

With no wind and fairly cool temperatures, the young people found good conditions, but no national records were set at the start of the outdoor season in Überetsch. In the U16 girls, Smeraldie Desamour from SSV Bruneck celebrated a triple victory in the 80 m, 80 m hurdles and the shot put. Johanna Herbst from Deutschnofen won the 1000 m run in 3:12.23 minutes. The athletes from the Bolzano club SAB dominated the boys of the same age: Stefano Rossi (ball + javelin) and Andrea Bassani (80 m + distance) each climbed to the top of the podium twice, and Diego Temporin also won the high jump with 1.55 m.

In the U14 age group, Lea Carrara from Merano was in a class of her own in the 600 m (1:51.78) and long jump (4.52), while Emma Frost from Wipptal (high + ball) also celebrated two daily victories. Arianna Vitella from LC Bozen ran the 60 m in a good 8.43 seconds. Fabian Noah Nussbaumer from SV Lana dominated the 60 m sprint and the shot put, while Gabriel Niederfriniger from Vinschger won the 60 m hurdles and the high jump.

The 2nd stage of the Ladurner Grand Prix will take place next week, on Saturday, April 27th in Brixen.
