Schwazer hopes for the Olympics and appears on television

The 2024 Summer Olympics will take place in Paris next summer. Maybe even with a surprise guest from South Tyrol? Alex Schwazer hasn't given up hope. He will also take part in an Italian reality TV show.

It was already known in July that Alex Schwazer still had small hopes for the 2024 Olympics. Schwazer would then be 39 years old and because he cooperated with the authorities after his doping ban, he is entitled to have his ban shortened (more on this complicated situation can be found here).

Meanwhile, Alex Schwazer will take part in the Italian TV show “Grande Fratello”. This will be produced in a studio in Rome and will be broadcast from September 11th. In a first trailer video, Schwazer can be seen with producer Alfonso Signorini in Cortina. Schwazer had previously taken part in some TV shows, but later admitted that some of them weren't good for him.

Training despite TV recordings

This time, however, something else seems to be in the foreground, because Schwazer has been assured that he can continue training regularly despite the show. Like the newspaper La Repubblica reports, Schwazer follows a rigorous training plan. This is no different from those athletes who work towards major competitions – for example the Olympics.

It is not yet clear whether Schwazer actually has a chance at the 2024 Olympics. What is certain is that the South Tyrolean has not given up hope and is still highly motivated even at an advanced age as an athlete.
