Spring classic attracts people to Lake Kaltern on March 24th

The Top7 running series has been around for eight years. In 2006, the Kalterersee half marathon was launched at the same time. The organizers of the South Tyrolean Running Club have made a great move. The scenic event already had 500 participants in its founding year. “If the registrations continue as before, there could even be 1000 this time,” says OK President Frieda Viertler, pleased about the great interest. Last year, 987 runners registered. This makes the Kalterersee half marathon the second largest in South Tyrol.

As in the previous year, the half marathon (2 laps of the lake, 21,1 km) and the panoramic run (1 lap of the lake, 10,55 km) are joined by the fun run. “We want to offer all running enthusiasts or those who want to become one an ideal entry-level opportunity,” says Viertler. The fun run is carried out parallel to the panorama run, but without timekeeping. No sports medical certificate is required to take part in the fun run.

The start will take place on March 24th at 10 a.m. at the parking lot in St. Josef am See. The handbikers start 10 minutes earlier. The start is in a southerly direction. At 10.15:XNUMX a.m. the panoramic and popular runners take to the track. The Kalterersee half marathon also attracts numerous top runners every year. The Italo-Moroccan Said Boudalia has already triumphed four times at Lake Kaltern. Defending champions are Hannes Rungger from Sarn and Monica Carlin from Trentino.

More than 7000 runners made the 7 Top2012 running series the most important in South Tyrol. The Kalterersee half marathon also contributed to this. This is about to break the 1000 participant mark for the first time. On March 24th, runners can choose between one and two laps around Lake Kaltern.
