Frick and Gargitter win the Völser Weiher youth mountain race

On the beautiful circuit around the Völser Weiher, the girls in the U18 category achieved a double victory for the Merano sports club. Sara Frick won in 9.53 minutes ahead of her teammate Greta Lochmann (10.50) and Nadja Auer from ASC Berg. Leo Gargitter, however, took the boys' U18 title. The 16-year-old from ASC Berg won the race ahead of Ivan Bazzanella. Another athlete from ASC Berg, Lisa Kerschbaumer, secured the U16 class. Among the boys of the same age, victory went to Samuel Demetz from Val Gardena. U14 runner Sophia Stratmann from the Südtirol Team Club was in a class of her own in her category, while Ivan Domenici won the boys' race. Sofia Demetz celebrated victory in the U12 age group, while Niklas Thaler from ASC Deutschnofen won the boys category.

The athletes now continue in the fourth race of the cross series this Saturday with the provincial youth mountain run in Oberplanitzing.

Frick and Gargitter win the Völser Weiher youth mountain race

The traditional Völser Weiher youth mountain run took place this weekend. Around 150 athletes from the U8 to U18 age groups took part.
