Oberbacher and Pircher dominate the Marinzen run

The 23-year-old Oberbacher from Ortisei, a successful cross-country skier, took control of the race from the start on the 7,95 kilometer long route (452 meters in altitude) and won in 36,57 minutes. At the finish, the man from Val Gardena was almost three minutes ahead of last year's winner Marco Bazzoni from Athletic Club 96 Bozen. Alex Holtz from Meran completed the podium in 40,17 minutes.

Among the women, top favorite Petra Pircher lived up to her role as favorite. The woman from Lasa, who had already held her own last year, set an extremely high pace over the entire distance and distanced herself from the entire competition with a time of 43,44 minutes. Pircher was even 1,12 minutes faster compared to the previous year. Second place went to Birgit Bracket (48.58), who relegated Giorgia Felicetti (49.47) from the Fassa Valley to third place.

Oberbacher and Pircher dominate the Marinzen run

Alex Oberbacher from Val Gardena and Petra Pircher from Val Venosta won the 25th edition of the Marinzen mountain run in Castelrotto on Sunday. A total of 96 runners took part.
