The national championship titles in wrestling have been awarded

The traditional sport of Ranggeln has been on the rise again for several years, as the numerous spectators were able to experience this last weekend at the VSS/Raiffeisen State Championships on the Gampiel Alm above Pfunders. “A total of 43 rangers showed great commitment today,” said VSS speaker Markus Wolfsgruber about the proud number of participants. At the national championship, rangglers from Passeiertal, Ahrntal, Terenten, Rodeneck, Vintl and Bruneck fought for the coveted trophies. The spectacle also attracted some guests of honor to the Gampiel Alm. These include VSS board member Lidia Bernardi and VSS managing director Daniel Hofer, as well as the board members of Raiffeisenkasse Vintl, Johann Zingerle and Silvester Johann Weissteiner. After many exciting battles, the titles for the little ones in the 6-8 year old class went to Weger Simon (Ahrntal), to Öttl Levi (Passeier) for the 8-10 year olds, and to Voppichler Jakob (Ahrntal) in the 10-12 age category , as well as to Fiegl Devid (Passeier) for the 12-14 year olds. The youth categories in particular impressed with exciting fights. The two Psairer Fabian Hofer won the national championship trophies in the 14-16 year olds and Auer Martin in the 16-18 year old age group. Oberhollenzer Michael from Ahrntal then won the VSS/Raiffeisen state championship title in the general class. To the delight of all spectators, in addition to the VSS/Raiffeisen state championships, a prize wrestling competition was also held on the Gampiel Alm.
