Felix Wegscheider is causing a sensation

Felix Wegscheider's dream season continues. After the excellent results at the Italian and North-East Championships, the Völser now also celebrated his debut in the Italian junior national team. At the Supermoto Nations Cup in Castelletto di Branduzzo, the MC Neumarkt figurehead really made people sit up and take notice.

In the so-called fast races on Saturday, the U23 team shone with third place. The “Azzurri” around Felix Wegscheider, Matteo Frassino and Tommaso Pompilio showed a solid performance, with the Völser being the fastest of the trio.

On the day of the competition on Sunday, the Italians again placed third, behind winners France and Germany. In fifth place, Wegscheider was even the best of his team, which had him to thank for winning the bronze medal. Pompilio took eighth place, Frassino was 12th. The Italian senior team, however, took silver.

“For the first time ever, a South Tyrolean pilot was called up to the Italian national team for such an important event. Compliments to Felix, to his dad Markus and to the Motoclub Neumarkt, who are all doing an excellent job,” said the South Tyrolean FMI state president Marco Bolzonello. There was also praise from national president Copioli: “Our U23 talents put in a sensational performance, even though we weren't necessarily lucky in some episodes. All three can be proud of themselves.”

Last weekend the Morresi regional trophy in motocross also took place in Montevarchi. A total of over 200 pilots from 21 different regions took part.
