Target Competition starts the season successfully

Target Competition expects an extremely intense racing year in 2024. The South Tyrolean team is fielding a total of ten vehicles in three racing series. The start was successful at the weekend.

As in previous years, five (!) vehicles from the Hyundai Elantra TCR brand will be competing in TCR Italy. Furthermore, with the support of the Porsche Centrum Bozen-Trient, Target Competiton is taking part in the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia with three cars, as was the case last year. Another two vehicles will be used in the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany.

As if that wasn't enough, the Andrians are once again taking part in the legendary 24-hour race at the Nürburgring this year, where they triumphed in their category last year. In the last few weeks, Target Competition also competed in two preparation races at the Nürburgring, which they won in their class.

Pleasing start

The Porsche Cup Germany started the new season last weekend. Exceptionally not in Germany, but on the famous Imola race track. Two drivers competed for Target Competition this year: Marvin Klein, the two-time winner of the French Porsche Cup, and the 18-year-old Senna Van Soelen from the Netherlands.

In Saturday's qualifying with 26 vehicles, Klein came in an excellent 5th place, while Van Soelen took 1,1th place, 17 seconds behind qualifying winner Larry Ten Voorde. In the first race, Klein drove a solid race, which he finished with a very good 4th place. Van Soelen, a rookie in his first season with the Porsche, finished 14th.

The second race on Sunday was even more successful for the team. Klein, who started the race from 7th place on the grid, made up a few places and crossed the finish line in third place after an eventful race, thus taking his first podium place of the new season. Van Soelen was more than satisfied with 11th place. In the rookie ranking, the ranking of young newcomers, he even took second place. The next races for the Porsche Cup Germany will take place in Oschersleben in just a week.
