Davis Cup: A must for Sinner & Co.

The draw for the intermediate round of the Davis Cup took place in London on Tuesday. Jannik Sinner & Co. have a feasible group in front of them.

Italy's tennis experienced something historic in 2023. The Azzurri won the Davis Cup for the first time since 1976. The selection was led by an outstanding Jannik Sinner, who almost single-handedly led his team to the title and finally became the absolute favorite in the boot state.

With superstar Sinner, Italy is also one of the hottest favorites for the Davis Cup title in 2024. The intermediate group was drawn in London on Tuesday, with Italy assigned to the opponents Netherlands, Belgium and Brazil in Group A. This is a mandatory task for Italy: Belgium currently has no top 100 player, Brazil only has one in Thiago Seyboth (ATP 76) and the best Dutchman is Tallon Griekspoor, 26th in the world.

Is Sinner already playing the second round?

The intermediate round will take place in Bologna from September 10th to 15th, immediately after the US Open. So it remains to be seen whether Sinner will serve here - or whether he would only intervene again in a possible final round.

First there are other highlights for the Sesto native, including the Masters 1000 tournament in Miami, which will take place this week and next.
