Kings have to let Oilers pass

The Edmonton Oilers clinched an immensely important win last night (CET) and stopped their series of bankruptcies? The leaders? The Kings from Los Angeles.

Edmonton's top strikers Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins got their team back on track in front of 18.400 fans at Rogers Place. In the 4-2 win against division rivals Los Angeles Kings, they were each credited with two scorer points.

For the Oilers, after three defeats in a row, it was an important success against their direct competitor for a playoff place in the National Hockey League. After the victory, the Canadians, who were previously tied on points, are now third in the table and two points ahead of the Kings. Ahead of them in the Pacific Division rankings are only the confident leader Vancouver and within striking distance the Vegas Golden Knights.

Last night's NHL results:

Washington Capitals - Ottawa Senators 6:3
Dallas Stars – New York Islanders 2:3 aet
Edmonton Oilers – Los Angeles Kings 4-2
Seattle Kraken – Boston Bruins 4:3 nP
