22 years young and already 12 titles on the ATP Tour: Jannik Sinner is rocking the tennis scene, and how! After his triumph in Rotterdam, the Sesto superstar had special words.

“It means a lot to me to win here,” says Jannik Sinner after his triumph at the ATP 500 tournament in Rotterdam across from Sky. The reason for these words is not the fact that, thanks to his triumph, the man from Sexten is now number 3 in the world and has thus set a historical record in Italy's tennis scene. Rather, it is his connection to Rotterdam that made this Sunday so special for him.

“This tournament helped me a lot in my career. “I got a wild card here when I was 18,” says the 22-year-old. Back then, Sinner was still a little boy in the big, wide tennis world, but he is now a superstar and will be number 3 in the world for the first time on Monday. His final win against Alex De Minaur moved him to third place in the world rankings.

“It wasn’t an easy final today,” says Sinner. “I tried to keep my head clear. I didn't serve perfectly, but I'm still happy with how I played." The man from Sexten also emphasizes how important preparation for the match is. “Many people don’t know how much work really goes into it. You don't win 80 or 90 percent of matches on the day of the game, but much earlier - in training, during rest breaks, in preparation, in the gym. I think we’re working well in that regard.”

Now Sinner is in the top 3 in the world. “It obviously increases confidence and it means a lot to me. But the most important thing for me remains that I can share all these things with my team and the people who are close to me.” Sinner continues at the beginning of March, when the first Masters 1000 tournament takes place in Indian Wells (California). the season is coming up.
