Sinner kick-off in Madrid: The date has now been set

Exactly two weeks after his semi-final defeat against Stefanos Tsitsipas in Monte Carlo, Jannik Sinner returns to the tennis stage. Now the exact time has been determined.

Early on Friday afternoon, the ATP announced the “Order of Play” for Saturday. Jannik Sinner arrives in Spain's capital around lunchtime. The “Derby d'Italia” against Lorenzo Sonego begins on Saturday from 12.30 p.m.

Sinner and Sonego have been good friends for some time and won the Davis Cup title together for Italy at the end of 2023. At ATP level, the South Tyrolean has won all four of his matches against the 28-year-old from Turin. Sinner, who is seeded number 1 in a Masters tournament for the first time in Madrid, is also the big favorite on Saturday.
