A month in South America: Dominik Paris' timetable

Dominik Paris will spend almost a whole month in South America. South Tyrol's best downhill skier will hone his material, form and technique there. He is supported by his family.

Midsummer in the local Ulten Valley, deepest winter in Argentina's Tierra del Fuego. Dominik Paris is taking this route because the downhill rider will be spending the next few days in Ushuaia. There Paris will meet his teammates Technical department that flew to Argentina last week are.

For two weeks, until September 4th, Paris will train in the southernmost ski resort in the world. Then we continue to Chile. The La Parva ski resort is located around 50 kilometers from the capital Santiago de Chile. Although the winter in Chile is exceptionally mild this year, Paris and his team can train at over 3000 meters in La Parva. By the way: Christof Innerhofer, Florian Schieder and the other members of the Azzurri downhill squad (Mattia Casse, Benjamin Alliod, Niccolò Molteni and Pietro Zazzi) complete their entire summer preparation in La Parva. On September 17th the downhill skiers will return home.

Paris is supported in South America by his Ultner “compatriots” Sepp Zanon and Luis Kuppelwieser. The latter is Paris's brother-in-law and, in addition to his work as a physiotherapist, is also involved in the training process. Zanon, on the other hand, is the Nordica skiman from Paris and also Kuppelwieser's uncle. By the way, Paris recently worked on her strength, jumping power and muscle stabilization at home in her own gym. But anyone who knows the 34-year-old knows that this is a tedious, compulsory program for him. A skier who enjoys feeling and enjoying himself feels really comfortable not in the weight room, but on the slopes.
